When it comes to Cities, we've been there, done that, now serving 72 tips in 32 categories ranging from Anchorage to Washington DC.
You should eat lots of high fiber vegetables such as carrots and broccoli, but lightly cooked, not raw. Heat frees up the beta carotene.
When the "termination dust" creeps down the mountains surrounding Anchorage, you know the snow will soon reach the city.
When it does, remember to keep your steps short, with your weight firmly over your foot. Put a foot too far forward and
you'll be laughingly referred to as a "cheechako," or "newcomer" as you pick your self up.
No one visits Victoria, B.C. without admiring the beautiful flower baskets hanging from every light pole.
The city will share their "recipe" for the baskets if you ask. Just call up the City offices while you're there, and they will happily share their flower secrets with you.
This year's World's Fair is in Hanover, Germany. Expo 2000 kicks off on June 1 and runs through October 31.
Hanover is excited to be hosting the Millennium World's Fair and has put together what promises to be an excellent event. With more than 14 million tickets already locked in, the city is expecting tens of millions more than that sum. The theme of the fair explores "our future living together" from many different angles. In addition, numerous countries will have individual exhibitions; for example,
Australia has a pavilion that includes a replica of the threatened Great Barrier Reef. The fair will also feature daily performances of music, theater, and other arts, as well as a nightly fireworks show called (I'm not making this up) Flambee.
Hanover itself has made a unique effort to help visitors get to know its best side. A thick red line painted on city streets will guide walkers to Hanover's best attractions.

A lovely idea for music during the dinner is a single classical guitarist or harpist. When you look for the musician, don't forget to try your local high schools and colleges. There are professional quality musicians to be found there who should be more than experienced to provide the music you're looking for. Also, music schools usually have lists of good musicians.
No master chef's barbecue is complete without colorful, sometimes refreshing, other times rib-stickingly rich, and always well seasoned essential supporting players(side dishes) that not only hold their own at cookouts, but occassionally steal the show. My favorites are beet and red cabbage slaw; grilled zucchini and summer squash salad with basil-parmesan dressing; tomato, cucumber and red onion salad with mint; grilled portobella and red bell pepper salad with rosemary dressing.
